Marriage Market

Modern life changes the traditional rituals of coupling people. Occidental web chat like Meetic or Badoo, two of the most used websites by Italian people, are unknown to Chinese people, oppressed by a censorship obscuring many through the squares on the web. From the web to the street: the city square remains the ancient place where meeting kindred spirit of their own.
In Shanghai (China), each Sunday singles get used to the rite of the marriage market, a market of announces where you offer your availability to marriage or, simply, to an encounter. Someone creates an announce with the photo, otherwise parents insert the photos of their guys as agents for the marriage, others list personal details or capacities not to start any prejudice. CV hang with clips from a line or lie over the footpath: they want to capture the attention of a correspondent spirit and find an affective place in the world.
In the signs are generally exposed certificates of marriage counseling, information about their children that are proposed (qualifications, various preferences), inquiries regarding the potential future partners (job, social class, height, Shanghai residence, age, annual gain).
